Why a school would use it
Money Nobody Taught You is a 15-book illustrated chapter series that teaches teens real money skills through a story they want to finish.
Most students leave school without being taught how interest, credit, scams, inflation and banks actually work. Many states now require personal finance for graduation.
Each book teaches one plain money rule through a story about a crew of teenagers and their uncle at a Texas repair shop. It is written for students who don’t like textbooks.
The program is designed to
- Give teens a plain, story-based introduction to everyday money topics.
- Fit into about 10 minutes a day of read-aloud, with no teacher prep.
- Support every learner with read-aloud, text-to-speech and quiz accommodations.
- Give principals a simple before-and-after view through a short quiz and a one-page report.
These are design goals, not promised results.

Cost and budget
Start at $0, then a flat yearly price
Licenses cover one school year, with no auto-renew unless the school chooses it, so the board can review the program each year. No hidden fees.
| Option | Price | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Pilot one classroom | $0 | Every school’s first classroom is free with an access code from Paul (request it with the free-code form). Nothing to sign, no card. |
| Whole-school license | $2,499 / year | Every teacher and classroom in one building for one school year. Books, teacher guides, workbook, class scorer and worksheets. |
| Founding school (first 25 schools) | $1,499 / year | Everything in the whole-school license, for the first 25 schools to sign on. |
| District (3 or more schools) | $1,999 / school / year | Or 20% off list. Everything in the whole-school license for every school, in one purchase (choose 3 to 50 schools at checkout). |
| 15-book paperback set (optional) | $499 | Printed copies of all 15 books. |
| Replacement paperback (single book, optional) | $29.99 | Lost or damaged copy? Replace any one book. |
Budget example. A school of about 500 students on the whole-school license works out to about $5 per student for the year ($2,499 ÷ 500), or about $3 per student at the founding price ($1,499 ÷ 500). A district with 3 schools pays $1,999 per school, $5,997 in total for the year. Paperbacks are optional; the license includes the digital books and all teacher materials. To order (including district licenses for 3 or more schools), or to ask for a purchase order or invoice, see the Buy page.
Implementation
Timeline
A school can start with one free classroom and decide after seeing its own report.
- Step 1
Preview
Board members, principals and teachers look through the books and teacher materials online. Previews open without a code.
- Step 2 · a few weeks
Free one-classroom pilot
A teacher requests a free access code from Paul, gives the short pre-quiz, reads aloud about 10 minutes a day and gives the same quiz again.
- Step 3
Principal review
The class scorer prints a one-page Principal Report. The school decides whether to continue.
- Step 4 · school year
License the school or district
One yearly license covers every classroom in the building. No auto-renew unless the school chooses it.
- Each year
Board review
Unless the school chose auto-renew, nothing renews on its own, so the board and school decide each year whether to continue.
Oversight
What parents and the board see
- Parent letter. A ready-to-send letter tells families what their teen is reading. Parents can preview the books and materials too.
- Open materials. Books, teacher guides and the workbook can be previewed online by anyone, no code needed.
- No student data collected. We don’t collect student or school data. Quiz results stay with the school.
- The school controls results. Sharing results, reviews or quotes is always the school’s choice, and only with its permission.
- Ungraded quiz. The before-and-after quiz is a check, not a grade, and can follow IEP/504 accommodations.
- No tracking. This site has no tracking, no analytics and no cookies. If you arrive through a partner’s referral link, your browser alone remembers that partner’s code for up to 90 days, so the partner is credited if your school buys.
- Not financial advice. The books are stories that teach money ideas.
Who’s behind it. Paul Blankenburg, author: a former oilfield instructor and frac mechanic in Fort Worth, who writes about money the way he fixes a pump: plain and useful. Books 1 and 2 are published on Amazon Kindle.
